His Grampa was Paul "Shorty" Medlocke, a musician. Well, "Ttain, Train" was written by Shorty and he plays harmonica on the Blackfoot recording of "Train, Train".

Here's Shorty's original recording of "Train, Train":

Amen.
I have seen that video of Shorty before.

Closer To Home was one of the first albums I ever owned. On top of that, I've seen Grand Funk Railroad at least a half dozen times over the years. They've made a lotta hit music over a long career.  I consider this to be their magnum opus:

Amen.
Deo vindice

Thin Lizzy was an Irish band led by Phil Lynott. He is yet another artist who died way too soon.  He was only 36.

I bought the Jailbreak album when it came out. This song from that album was released in 1976.  It wasn't a big hit, but it is one of their best:

Amen.
Deo vindice

I liked a few songs by Thin Lizzy. Everybody knows The Boys are Back in Town.

This rocker was underrated in my opinion.

I saw Bachman-Turner Overdrive live many years ago. Powerful concert!  So, I'm in the mood for me some BTO right here and right now. This is one of their biggest hits and most memorable songs:

Amen.
Deo vindice

A good working man's band. I liked the songs Fred Turner sang better than the ones Randy Bachman sang. let It Ride was their best tune.
