Singapore's hygiene standards exceed most western countries. If food is served that is not appealing, that place may as well shut down, because customers won't show up.



Health inspectors visit randomly, and if a place fails to comply they are shut down forthwith...usually ending their business on the spot.



Food is always fresh and freshly cooked.

Obviously different from China then!  In BC, we can pull up inspection results of eateries, and I'll leave it to you to figure out the eateries that generally top the list for fails...

I often do, but in this case this thread assumes you'll be traveling...  Most people just budget to eat out when traveling, instead of trying to cook things in hotel room.

Apartments do, but at considerable cost, and usually unserviced.
