This is a cover of a song by The Band. Frankly, it's better than the original, IMHO. Hear for yourself:

The original:

Amen.
Deo vindice

Herman

This is actually a cover by Lynyrd Skynyrd. The original is by JJ Cale.

Shen Li

Metallica covering an Ozzy era Black Sabbath classic.

HIM was a gothic rock band from Finland. I really like their cover of this great Chris Isaak number:

Amen.
Deo vindice

Rodrigo y Gabriela are originally from Mexico City. They've been performing since 2000. Their cover of the old Zeppelin classic is mesmerizing:

Amen.
Deo vindice

Herman

Who could ever forget this rock Classic by The Troggs?

I'd venture to say, though, that most people don't know it's a cover. This is the original recording by Jordan Christopher & The Wild Ones:

Oh, but there's more. The song was written by Chip Taylor, the younger brother of Actor Jon Voight who, as you probably do know, is the father of actress Angelina Jolie.

Amen.

Not trying to derail the thread, but this, I think, is the worst cover ever.

Robert Smith should get shot for that.

No derail at all, amigo. I didn't even know the cover existed. I did listen to it. I can't honestly say I hate it, but it's gone so far astray from what it's supposedly covering, it seems rather pointless as a cover.

But, what the hell do I know?

Amen.
