I want a cold cheese and fruit salad.

kiebers

Warning...big post...

The Wife and I watched a Sam the cooking guy video on poor mans burnt ends using a chuck roast. We decided to try it. We had a crappy clearance chuck roast, but surprisingly, after cutting out the immense fat and gristle, they wound up being pretty tasty. She also wanted to make some ribs but cooking them in the oven first then go to the grill. They were super tender. So the final tally tonight wound up being ribs, burnt ends, potato salad, dressed up tomato slices and croutons. Very tasty. Of course the BBQ sauce we used on the ends and ribs is our homemade sauce with caramelized onions.

The process for the burnt ends....

Coated with rub ready for the grill.

On the grill fixing to go to the skillet

Butter, honey and bbq sauce added to skillet, wrapped in foil and put back on grill.

I've learned that if someone asks you a really stupid question and you reply by telling them what time it is, they'll leave you alone

I am thinking about making a French dip or maybe an Italnian beef.  Or, perhaps better yet, an unholy merger of the two.  The only thing holding me back is do I really want to go to the store to buy bottom round then spend three hours cooking it?

I might get lazy and just go buy a sandwich though that gets expensive with a family of four.
