It's called "rejection" and no one likes it, no matter what they claim. It's how they handle it that separates the men from the boys.

In my expierence when I would brush off a guy's advances most times I would either get the attitude like.... "How dare you reject me. A pig like you should be grateful for any attention you get" or I would get "the wounded puppy act". Both reactions showcase how childlike men can be and how easily their egos can be damaged.

If they throw a tantrum or if they go off and sit in the corner and cry........you get validation that you did the right thing by saying " no" because you just saved yourself a whole assload of grief.

ac_smile Deep down.....aren't all men boys? Well if you listen to some men all women are "bitches" or "cunts".  :laugh3: Who is right and who is wrong is a matter of perspective, I guess.

The real problem with men is, about 80% of them are not really hard-wired to accept themselves as they are.  They aren't capable of real humility, nor do they know how to have a healthy ego without having third parties to prop them up.  Those third parties are more easily found among "buddies" who will all mutually reinforce how "manly" they are.  It's hard for men to get ego reinforcement from women because women (generally speaking) see them either as lovable unfinished masterpieces needing only the right feminine hand to finesse them into shape, or as chumps to be exploited.

The other 20% of men handle rejection fairly well.

Not only that, but meeting men bars and buying drinks?

Not where I want to be and not where I would expect to meet someone I would want to meet.

I used to think like that when I was younger but now that I'm older and hopefully wiser, I don't think men can ever be truly molded into a "masterpieces". There is always going to be some major flaw waiting to jump out at you. Yeah sure, you can get them to stop wearing sweat pants all the time or to use coupons at the grocery store or even use a fork at the dinner table but you can never fully "house break" or domesticate them.

They're kinda like keeping a semi-wild dog for a pet. It never really works out and it's not a real good idea. At some point they are always going to go sniffing off into a direction that you don't want them to go. :laugh3:

As for the "chumps", I've never viewed a guy that way. It's incredibly disrespectful. And I could never have any respect for a guy that would allow a woman to do that to them. There is a certain amount of self-respect that is required in order for you to be a viable dating or relationship partner. If you don't have at least that, then I'm not interested.

Maybe she means meet markets, alcohol and healthy relationships don't mix.

I am with Fash on this. I was never in the bar scene anyway. It's just not my place to hang out and it does not draw me in. I'm not pining to go to a bar. I'll go if I am going with a bunch of friends or with my significant other but never alone. ac_sothere

I was into the bar scene when I was young because I wanted a meaningful overnight relationship with alcohol involved. At my age and even if I was single, not anymore.

I used to go to a couple bars when I was teen with friends but it was the thrill of being able to get in under age or use a fake id.

A little bonus dating/pick up advice:

NEVER ruin a woman's favourite karaoke song by inviting yourself to sing it with her then butchering it.

Fuck you whatever your name was!  That was MY Bad Romance!

I did some bonehead moves when I was single, but I never did that.
