Damn - I rarely screw up and place a long important-to-me (and words for others to not give up) post at the bottom of page (a lost post)

It all became a big part of our lives and many years of a great and mutually productive relationship

please allow me to bring it forward -

I know this from personal experience .... ditched the hubby from hell who had conned me into thinking he was OK (my fault) ... spent a lot of time alone ..  and then found my current and now longtime winner



It was easy for me to find my good one as I had created and hosted an upscale  singles dinner club (with dancing after) at the best places in Victoria as a business .... as hostess / owner I of course was not supposed to "sample the goodies", but out of the blue I found my winner, fudged on the rules a bit, got to know him  and quickly sold the club



Damn it was funny the last 3 group dinners before new owner took over - many funny stories how we got together initially  ... and  and  as I wanted my new find there for the long Saturday evenings on the town but had to remain neutral to do my job responsibly for the paying members ... doing our best to pretend we were not crazy in love and lust and being sociable to others who were there to meet people and considered us as possible "prospects". :laugh:

For those programmed to losers, they will find what they seek easily



For those who want winners, it isn't as easy, but can happen if you try ... put yourself out in the right places and right situations ... Winners are out there



We had a lot of good people in my upscale Victoria restaurant group ... about 50 members in all and about 15 - 20 at each individual dinner .. I would book an off to the side semi private area  of a top restaurant based on commitments for each Saturday night dinner



I interviewed every potential member (in a "safe neutral ground" upscale pub in the heart of downtown Victoria") to be sure we had the right people ... that's how I met my guy ... he never had a chance as by the time for first dinner we had already got to know each other  ... so he never got to really meet others on a true get to know basis ... the first guy that I accepted a dinner invite for the evening of the interview ... that dinner itself was whole other funny story that we often joke about fondly ... as were my last 3 hostess dinners while waiting for the new club owner to take over ... with us pretending we didn't know each other well and both of us wishing the event to end ASAP



Interviewing  the prospective member who turned out to be an upscale escort pimp   ... and thus failed the cut ... was another funny tail ... naive moi took a while to catch on to what he was about .... it took a high paid job offer  to clue me in



Several marriages ultimately resulted ... most seemed like they would be good ones .... and it resulted in a good one for me, even though I was dedicated to being a good organizer / hostess  ... and not sample the goods  :wink:



All good memories I savor - I called it " Club Xanadu" (Xanadu: land of idyllic magnificence and beauty)
